Vanity, even being a Skydancer, scoffs at the idea that magic should form the end of dragon knowledge, and prefers getting her claws dirty with nice, blood-filled hard science rather than stare starry-eyed at the working of the universe. Her main field of interest is the anatomy of her fellow dragons, and it is a keen, sharp interest. However, Vanity's methods are unorthodox at best, nightmarish at worst. Her old clan back in the Sunbeam Ruins couldn't help but notice food disappearing and winding up dissected in the night, diagnoses that required amputation and bloodletting for something as simple as a cold, and a too-enthusiastic fascination with the bloodsucking tendencies of leeches. However, the last straw was the disappearance of eggs from neighboring nests. She was violently exiled from the clan shortly after.
That suited Vanity perfectly well. Light clans were too rooted in the justice, resistant to improvements and changes. The question was merely where to head next - Plague was too unsanitary, Lightning too focused on mechanics and Water only cared for prophecies. The land of Arcane, with its weird individuals, seemed a good place to continue her research. She has promised to be good. And it's not like anyone will notice if a few rats go missing...
