Alique

Alique had a very different childhood, so to say. She was raised by lots of her different relatives, as even her grandparents from different clans would come to visit. However, with the members of her family being from different clans and different species as well, each tried to influence her and her two brothers in the ways of their species, but also pressure them into joining their own Clan. From this is where Alique gained her both her extensive knowledge on each of the species and her somewhat eccentric personality, as she was constantly being pulled this way and that by the customs of the different Clans. Though she was a bit odd, she was fiercely intelligent. She stored the knowledge she learned for future use, and never forgot anything that she learned. Though this was all well and good, it never gave her time to meet other hatchlings her age, as she was always studying. She'd never had a real friend, so when she ran away to a different clan and met Sunny, her world turned upside down. Here was a dragon who wanted to be friends with everyone, was as welcoming as he was intelligent, and then there was her. she, who had a strange love of all things different or odd such as herself, and had never even interacted with another hatchling her age. She also had a tendency to blurt out the obvious, and could be painfully blunt and fickle at times. But... she was learning. She also had a great teacher, she thought with a smile, seeing a certain Turtle Snapper in her mind's eye. Though not entirely knowing what it meant, Alique had decided that she loved Sunny a while back, and even after learning what it had meant, she still stuck to it. Though he was with everyone else a lot too, he came to see her the most, and she loved that. While speaking to Feuillu of these feelings (she had just sat there silently with a small smile playing about her features), she had told Alique of the Bonded Mate Ritual and all that it entailed. Once bonded to your mate, you it would be considered betrayal to mate with another dragon. Before was fine, but after-no. Alique was fine with that- she only wanted to be with Sunny. Now she knew that the leader would most likely mate her with several other males before Sunny, but that was fine too. She just wanted to be by his side forever, and she wanted him to love her like she loved him. But did he? She didn't know, but she could always dream.
Alique also formed a unique relationship with her unique familiar, Rhiedr. After a while of living in the small clan, the leader came to her with a rather large egg, not as big as a dragon's mind you, but still. She had asked Alique to take care of it, and if she could keep it alive, she could keep whatever hatched out of it. Curious to see what was in fact in the egg, she agreed, and immediately racked her 'library' of knowledge insider her head. Aha! So based on the coloration and texture of the egg, it was going to be some type of bird or snake famil- she gasped. A familiar! The leader had given her a familiar! Many of the other dragons her age had got them including Sunny, and she loved his grouchy little Sid. So, with a heart set with determination, she went to go and sit on the egg, letting her body heat warm it until it would hatch. Practice for later, she mused with a chuckle.
When the egg did eventually hatch, it turned out to be a Basilisk, and a right feisty one at that. snapping with sharp teeth at anyone who came close, Alique fretted she would not be able to take care of it. Panicking, she called Sunny. He undoubtedly agreed to help and proceeded to walk up to the basilisk, reach out his arm, and get bitten. She screeched and ran to see if he was okay. He just looked up at her, amused, as his rock-hard skin (Turtle Snapper, remember?) kept the small creature from inflicting any damage. They then decided to name him Rhiedr, the dragon word for 'bite'. He was quite cute, she thought later, as he curled up in the crook of her arm. It just took a while to get him to like you. And like her he did, he never left her side. He also had a certain fondness for Sunny, and never failed to playfully tackle him whenever they met. With one claw stroking his feathery head, she rested her own on the warm ground, thinking of how much her life had turned around since joining this little Arcane Clan.
