Her lover died, Wardensreach fell, and Tawnseelin changed. She’s no longer the smooth, solitary woman from the snowy forest; now, she’s clingy and insecure, wracked with anxiety and plenty of guilt. Some parts of her haven’t changed, though, like her charming naivete enhanced with a quick wit. She’s viciously smart with strategy being her specialty, but with a steady and unassuming demeanor that makes her easy to underestimate.

Once upon a time, Tawnseelin was a wild girl who lived in the forest. She would stalk her prey with her camouflaged hide and disorienting, softly glowing runes–the woodland turkeys inadvertently led her to their secret nests, where she could scavenge feathers and hunt meat when needed. She would take her valuable, off-season feathers to Wardensreach, where the foragers and artisans would pay her handsomely; she would then spend it all on supplies, treats and trinkets, and disappear back into the wooded slopes of the Cloudscape Crags. She liked it this way; she was never so content as to live alone in nature and be one with the wild. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. indentThe beginning of the end came when a man started to woo her. She was intrigued by Two-Step, the bogsneak cattle wrangler who paid a premium for feathers. She eventually fell in love with him, and she lived with him for months at a time. She did enjoy the comforts of civilization (hot baths!), but she always got antsy living too close to lots of people. She always felt like things would go wrong eventually. Two-Step died long before the destruction of the city, accidents on the ice are often fatal, and Tawnseelin retreated into the trees once more. She only emerged because the woodland turkeys’ migration pattern changed, and she no longer had that source of income.
