——-
As one of the founders of the Penumbraladin clan, Ausha acts as the clan’s head, though she prefers the terms “chief” or “boss” instead of being referred to as the matriarch. She runs the clan to the best of her abilities along side her mate, Dak, in hopes that she can provide these lost dragons with a home and a family, much like the one she had growing up.
- Hatchling Biography -
Ausha was blessed with a good life as a hatchling. She had kind parents, multiple friends, and her birth clan was viewed as a large family more often than not, even though most of them were not blood related. Food was plentiful, water was abundant and all was peaceful.
- Adolescent Biography -
With a sorrowful goodbye to her loved ones, Ausha left on her Search as a fledgling, feeling the pull to look, search, find. While on her journey, she traveled all over Sornieth, looking for her charge, as all guardians do. There were times when she was sure she'd found something or someone but then she'd realize that it had been wishful thinking, a frail hope that she was finally whole, finally a true guardian. It was a hope that was beginning to diminish.
She eventually passed through The Scarred Wasteland, where she was attacked by a pack of feral mirrors. She fought and won but had a couple of scratches that she only noticed in the aftermath. While not a big deal, they could still get infected, especially since it was the Plaguebringer's territory and her no-good, foul, rot-spreading children. Which is a dated point of view that she would not hold for long, but in her younger years, she was regretfully more narrow minded ignorant than she is now.
But it was for this reason that she sought out a doctor, which is how she met Dak. He’d been traveling in the same direction as her, also on his Search, and asked if it’d be alright if he stuck with her to which she agreed. As they traveled, they went through battles, natural disasters, sickness and all manner of obstacles together. They grew fond of each other and eventually fell in love. Dak made her feather necklace as a courting gift.
- Adult Biography -
As Ausha and Dak circled back around Sorienth and ended up in The Tangled Woods, they found a lake. A very strange lake with an eerie glow that emitted soft whispers and songs with a small network of coves a short ways off in the distance. They'd need to expand if it was to fit them but they knew they'd found what they were looking for. And they'd found it together. So they decided it'd be a perfect place to settle down and that's what they did. Reda wasn’t planned, but she was a welcome surprise nonetheless. Starting a clan was also an accident and something they hadn’t really intended on doing but, well, things happen.
Ausha never intended for herself to become the leader either, it just sort of...happened.
When the first members joined, they all looked to her and Dak for answers. She ended up making a couple of the first big decisions for the clan and suddenly they were calling her leader and boss. Even Dak would teasingly call her number one, eyes sparkling while she whacked him with her tail.
Ausha eventually accepts the role, and attempts to lead her newfound clan with compassion and honor. As the leader, Ausha takes her job seriously, though not too much. She wants her clan to be able to come to her with anything, it’s her job to look after them after all. Though she can be scary and strict when the occasion calls for it.
The clan knows that she is a veteran warrior and terrifying on and off the battlefield, but what they don't know is that she's been involved in battles against those monstrosities called emperors and managed to survive, but just barely.
She doesn’t like to talk about it.
Dak knows but not the details, but he loves his mate and understands that she doesn't want to remember those terrible, bloody battles. But they insist on haunting her dreams, turning them into nightmares that have her tossing and turning before screaming herself awake. On those nights, Dak curls around her head and sings, soft and quiet, until she finally falls asleep again. He doesn't leave her side again till she wakes.
- Familiar Biography -
Pevidera, Ausha's wispwillow peryton, has been with her since she started on her Search as an adolescent. Through thick and thin they've had each others' backs and Pevidera now helps Ausha watch over the clan and it's members. Since only those of shadow can see Pevidera at night, she is useful for keeping an eye on certain pranksters and shopping fanatics. When she's not on baby sitting duty, she can be found prancing through the woods, chasing all manner of creatures until she gets bored and returns to Ausha's side.
- Additional Notes -
➤ Ausha's sword is named Praesidium, which means protection.
