There are souls trapped in the starwood strand. The trees eat them, some say. Others think they stare too long at the stars and become unable to look away. Still others believe they spend eternity walking the same path that loops back on itself, cursed never to find a way to break out.
These are the souls Itura hears. Not dead, per se, just trapped in limbo. Stuck somewhere between the trees and the sky in a loop they may not even know they're fated into, wandering the forest forever while eternity forgets about them and leaves them to not even rot, just to remain.
They can't hear Itura, but he can hear them, oh yes he can, staring into the heart of his blue-gold candle flames. His runes glow and his eyes dim and suddenly his ears aren't here, they're somewhere else, somewhere infinitely more terrifying and absolute.
He and his sister are inseperable. Support systems, partners in crime, and so much more, Itura always spends time with Asia after listening, in order to calm down and Asia uses Itura as a sounding board for her ridiculous ideas. At first, the two of them only talked to each other, but recently Itura has been getting along very well with Idlip and Runesworn, two other dragons who are firmly submerged in all the messy clan goings-on related to the mysteries of the Starwood Strand. Is also very well acquainted with Siena, the clan mental health professional. God knows hearing all those wayward dragons causes strain.
Adara keeps pushing him to listen more, listen longer, remember more. It is so hard on him, though, hearing all those souls that he'll never be able to help or save or even meet, and it wears him thin sometimes. That's why he's glad Asia is here, and that's why he's glad he has met other good friends in this clan to help carry him through. After all, Adara has promised that she wants to help the trapped dragons as much as he does, and she does NOT seem like a dragon to go back on her word... or does she?
His deceased sister Asia lives on as a smoky spirit, and his familiar.
