Pulmoa

Born with bright pink colours, everybody in the Wind Flight sighed and shook their heads whenever Pulmoa mentioned warrior training.
"She'll never be able to sneak in from the sky with feathers like that."
"Her scales are so garish - that's an entertainer's colours, not a fighter's."
"Just forget it."

And so one day, sad and tired of everyone, she spread her wings and flew - not aiming to flee her home, just wanting to get some escapism. Not wanting to be found immediately, she found a cherry blossom tree and draped herself in it, allowing her hated colouration to make herself more difficult to locate. And so she just sat and contemplated, allowing the hours to fly by.

And then, managing to sneak up unobserved, Ulric noted her sadness and made the decision to discuss it with her. At first, Pulmoa apologized profusely - she hadn't realized she had entered another clan's territory - a clan that was part of the Nature Flight, no less. But then (mostly due to not having been able to vent her frustrations before), she explained her situation in full detail. When her tale had finished, Ulric spread his wings and bowed, offering his help in training her. Overwhelmed and almost crying, Pulmoa was accepted into the Nature Flight and began her training.

Over time, through becoming so well-acquainted with the terrain, her colours shifted into a more dull brown and green, but she never forgot her start and every now and again she allows her true colours to shine through, to recognise how far she's come.
