No one has ever survived a confrontation with Eris. How exactly she kills is entirely unknown -- most are unaware that she's even fought before. The dead don't talk.

B I O G R A P H Y

Eris arrived one day on the border of Clan Warden's territory,
greeting a guard and asking politely for a place to stay for a few nights. Sensing no danger from the dull-colored Coatl, the guard brought her into the Clan and settled her in. No one guessed at the time that she would be settling in permanently.

It simply happened that Eris had no place to call her own,
and after staying a few nights, she promptly decided that Clan Warden would be her home. She didn't ask, but other Clan members seemed to be of the mind that she had always been there.
She wasn't a wanderer; she had been here for years, in fact. She made herself a lair, which Clan members would say had also always been there, and there she had stayed since the early days of the Clan.

If anything was "off" with the Coatl, no one could sense it.
Though she had been reluctantly assigned to the task of fishing with some of the other members,
she also played pranks with Mercury, and performed cute little magic tricks for hatchlings, and sometimes helped the Clan's strategist with formulating plans. A normal Clan member, whose name had never been heard before the foundation of the Clan.

Whose name could not be found in the pages of old tomes -- ancient texts that cataloged the deities lost to Sornieth, and contained the story of a mischievous and powerful goddess...

____Eris's son was the accidental result of a tryst between her and Morgan, a poet. From the day Rodion hatched, it was apparent that some dark and forceful power lurked within the Imperial. His father was baffled, under the impression that neither himself nor Eris possessed any noteworthy magical talent to pass on.
Eris, on the other hand, was well aware of how her son had come to possess power to rival the deities.

____Though Morgan was too young to take full responsibility for Rodion, Eris seemed to delight in having this new heir. Rarely could she be seen without her hatchling, who was raised on stories told in the dark of night of ages long ago, before the Flights came to be, and more capricious gods ruled the land.

____Eris was there when the Mirror hatchling stumbled into Clan Warden territory. She watched as he dragged his little starved body through the mud. Watched as another Clan member scooped him up and carried him to Dionysus for treatment. She saw the trail of blood that leaked from the small Mirror, and when no one was watching, smiled.

____There are some in Sornieth who still hear the calls of the old deities. That the little Mirror had followed the Voice and survived the journey spoke volumes of the grip destiny held on him. As he grew and adjusted to Clan life,
Eris always kept an eye on him, waiting for the day that he could fulfill his purpose.

____The hold "destiny" had over him, after all, was nowhere near the grip she had on him.

"Ugh, well...I fish. Someone has to get food for the clan -- I just wish it wasn't me. Do you have any idea how hard it is to wash the fish stench out of my feathers after every outing? I don't know how Water dragons deal with it."
Eris's feathers ruffle at the thought, and she hisses in irritation.
"I don't like getting wet. I don't like being cold. And do you want to guess where my job takes me in this clan's Water territory? Underwater, where it's wet and cold! If I can get another job, it won't come soon enough."
