Zealous and overconfident, Torgin is not a dragon of subtlety.

He has served under Fafnarin for quite some time as a guard for their swampy home, and the constant chasing off of lesser creatures and over excitement of scaring negligent wanderers away has lead to an undeserving ego on his part. He loves his home and truly does want to protect it, but rest assured he will remind you of how important it is that he's there.

The question is how much of it is him doing the work or his pet Pronghorn, Hopper, who typically chases things off before Torgin can even catch up. Clanmates like to joke that if it wasn't for Hopper Torgin would have much more work on his hands.. which causes many disgruntled, angry noises on his part.
