Ashain

Ashain is an introverted and compassionate dragon who fights alongside his partner Petran and good friend Saraya in the clan's battle unit.

He is most commonly found with his nose buried in a book, particularly if Petran will sit still for long enough that he can do so in his company. His openly affectionate nature is quite a contrast against the clan's second-in-command; he is well-liked even by the youngest hatchlings who are still afraid of his stern partner. Of course it often tips over into neediness, which some of the other clan adults find irritating to the point of distraction. His insistence on feeding his Ragamouse familiar, Tolstoy, from the main hoard of food doesn't exactly go down well, either.

Predictably, Ashain doesn't particularly enjoy his role in the fighting. He does, however, recognise that his magical abilities are useful, and that's the only reason he sticks it out... besides the fact that it's the best way to ensure his two hot-headed loved ones stay safe, of course. As such, he bites his tongue and battles on, safe in the knowledge that he is helping them and the clan - including the little hatchlings that Petran fathers with their clan leader, Keren.

He is also preparing to sire some hatchlings of his own with his close friend Innya, who also studies magic. While he cannot see himself being a particularly traditional father, especially when it comes to discipline, he imagines Petran will be happy to step in where he's needed.
