Cinder was born into a noble and highly respected plague clan. However, after they were raided by an opposing clan who sought to claim the territory as their, he soon found himself separated from his mother and fellow clan mates. Although he wandered for days looking for them, it was of no use. Cinder eventually found a family of farmer dragons from the Water flight who were on their way to a market in the Southern Icefield. The family was more than happy to bring him along for the trip, and together they set off to the Snowsquall Tundra. During the journey, the dragons stopped at the Clan of Maela for their monthly exchange of seafood for meat. They recounted Cinder’s story to one of Maela’s Protectors, Helios, who relayed the message to their leader Arabella. She was happy to welcome Cinder with open arms, and soon after he began his training to become become a Protector just like Helios.


Fast forward to Cinder’s adult life, and he has become one of the most valuable assets to his division. The driving force that constantly motivates him to work harder each day is to repay the clan for allowing him to have this new life. His dream is to be reunited with his birth mother, and fight against the leader of the opposing clan who was responsible for their separation.


Cinder is more than just an honorable Protector. In his free time, he enjoys studying rocks and fossils, and even has his own collection of animal skulls. Many of the clan’s hatchlings are fascinated by the stories he has to tell of what life was like in a Plague clan, seeing as none of them have ever stepped foot in the Scarred Wasteland.
