Biography
ATHENA The Younger Sister Clan Role: Witch Mate: none Pronouns: she/her Bio: While still a hatchling, the precocious Athena mastered Lightning magic. She didn't do this, much to her mentor's chagrin, by long hours of diligent study and practice, but instead by standing out in the storms that ravaged the plateau, absorbing the power from each strike into her small body and forcing it through her. Once she had learned to channel the power of the storm, it was child's play to create the energy herself. But Athena didn't stop there. She learned how to channel other elements--ice, water, and even wind, despite this last one being harder. With every new power she gained, she seemed a bit...different. Her eyes had an odd glint, and when she channeled a lot of power? They looked completely dark. Her clan began to worry something was off about Athena. But the Fae heard them whispering about whether to kick her out, so she left, to save them the trouble. She left behind a parting gift, though--an enchanted, eternal thunderstorm right over their lair. Even their best mages couldn't banish it. Hungry and impatient for more power, but knowing she had reached the limits of what she could do alone, Athena began to search for a partner. No, more than that--a sister. Someone she could trust with her life, and someone whose powers and skills complemented her own. She sought out a divining pool that she knew lay in the center of the Tangled Wood, hoping to glean insight from an outside source. But as soon as she laid eyes on the Guardian wandering toward the same pool, she knew--this was the one. Her sister. "Sister of the moon," she greeted her, and the response she got made her sure she was correct. They sought out the pool together, then, and though Artemis felt no need to look inside, Athena did. And she saw a great storm. Compared to the destruction and power of that storm, Athena's own most fantastic thunderstorms were but small breezes. Athena made the decision to trust Artemis with her vision--and found out the storm had a name. The Great Unmaking, and didn't that just sound grand? Something dark that had long coiled in Athena's heart came alive at the thought. The two sisters set out to find out more about this Unmaking, and about how they could combine their powers together. Athena is the brasher of the two, the more impatient, but also the more flexible. She is able to adapt to any situation. She has little knowledge of magic other than the practical, and little use for the deities. She tends to act without thinking, and Artemis is able to temper this in her a little. The two have found a new place to study magic, now: the magical stretch of forest known as The Borogrove. |
