Rocked up in the Crystalspine peaks one cold, January night, looking a bit lost. Luckily, Idril was out and about (being a Snapper, she's one for a stroll, whatever the weather - and Idril loves winter), and insisted he come in for tea - Shade wasn't one to object, and Dain was doing a gecko special for the carnivores...
Two medium-rare geckos down, and the sleepy Guardian was snuggled down in a corner, listening to the humming snortles of the coatls, and the whiffling of several Nocs, snoozing where they dangled from the cavern roof. From behind the embers of the fire, one of the resident menagerie - a small black wolf - padded over shyly, and sniffed at his claws with curiosity (or possibly because they still smelled of gravy). With a few snuffles, and a gentle lick, it settled down in a contented flop, under his chin.
This wasn't so bad!
