Biography

Not long ago, two dragons arrived to the clan's territory. They were mates, a female Fae by the name of Nakar, and Arkhe, her Spiral partner. They were exhausted, and said that they were in search of a new home, that every other clan, every other place they had tried to settle in, had been too harsh for them, too inhospitable. They were welcomed with open arms; even if they decided to leave, they were more than welcome to come back here to rest whenever they pleased.

Yet, history has its cruel ways. One week after their arrival, just as they had decided to settle in this territory, the Beastclans laid siege to the clan. Nakar and Arkhe, caught by surprised and unprepared, were the most badly damaged out of all the dragons.

The healer, Flora, worked tirelessly to heal their wounds, but the grim truth was that there was little to no chance for them to survive. Resources were running thin, and she had to heal other dragons, too. Flora, however, was not the kind to see death as an alternative, and gathered the clan mages for one last attempt to save their lives: a powerful spell, supposed to be able to breathe new life into them. That would be her last try, one last desperate measure to save the two newcommers.

The spell was cast, while the entirety of the clan looked on. However, seconds before it happened, Arkhe coiled itself around Nakar. One the spell hit, it hit the two of them at once - something that was not supposed to happen. Dust and light surrounded the pair. Once it settled, the clan was witness to the most unusual sight: where two dragons should've been, now laid a cocoon in the shape of a flower. It was crystalline and opalescent, with jagged edges, and as tall as the cave allowed it to grow. Though it was semi-transparent, the only that could be seen through it was a nondescript shadow, its image skewed by the crystal that surrounded it.

No one knew how to react. No one knew what to say. The crystal was left in the cave that was once the healer's room, to be tended to by the mages that helped created it. Though it was studied and monitored constantly, nothing could be learned from it. It was a complete and total mystery, more so because the cocoon grew. As days passed, it became bigger, and its edges began to point outwards, as if the bud it ressembled was blooming.

Two weeks after its creation, it cracked open. Everyone gathered to see the rebirth of the two dragons... except, there was only one inside. It looked like a Fae, with its many fins and big, bright eyes - but yet, its body was elongated, and it was bigger than any regular Fae. When it woke up, it started moving slowly - craning its neck as far as it could, stretching its wings and fins, and proding the ground with its claws - as if all these sensations were new to it. No one approached the new dragon while it moved - no one knew what to do, or how to handle the situation.

In time, the new dragon found its voice, and spoke softly, in a voice almost too quiet to hear: it explained that what had happened was not a side effect of the spell, but a deliberate creation by the Fae, Nakar. It explained that the two knew they would not survive, not even with the spell - but that there was a way they could continue living together, in a different way. That was why, when Flora casted the spell, Nakar casted her own, using the magic gathered by the other dragons to influence her own. That's how the cocoon was made. That was how the new dragon was formed: a perfect fusion of Arkhe and Nakar. They apologized for the confusion, for what had happened, but it had been a last minute decision, and the two dragons were not able to communicate it to the clan in time.

The new dragon called itself Arkhanar, though their name was later simplified to Arcana. They are a frail dragon, as their rebirth has been fairly recent. As of now, they've displayed the grace in flight of a Spiral, though their ability to communicate with their fins like the Fae have yet to show and/or develop. They seem to be a more solemn, quiet dragon than Arkhe and Nakar, but they are, by no means, an isolated dragon. They enjoy the company of others, though they're just not much for conversation.

They've yet to take up a job, but the clan is more than patient with them, seeing as they have to build up the strength before they can take up on anything. Usually, they're given small, safe tasks to carry on, such as taking care of a nest while Ambrosia and Musi are away, or taking care of a familiar or two when their dragons are busy with something else. It's fine by the rest.

Though most other dragons get along well with Arcana, none are close to them. They don't know how, though this is mostly due to the aura of mysticism and mystery that surrounds them that makes their clanmates hesitant to approach. Arcana doesn't mind; they rather like the quiet and peace of being alone, as if they are the only company they need.

Familiar: Petalwing Peryton
A gift given onto Arcana by the clan. It is meant to keep them company, and in case something were to happen, to alert the rest so that they can aid them. The dragon and the Peryton get along rather well, much to the relief of the clan.
