Biography
With new warriors and defenses needed to defend the clan, Mercury plays a huge in its protection. As leader of the Iron Blossoms, Mercury takes care of all the armor and metal/glass weaponry/defenses used by the clan. He first looks at the clan's materials useful to his work. If he needs better supplies he will go to market places or sometimes have his familiar "borrow" a neighbor's unused items.
His familiar, the Clown Charger, is quite useful when it comes to Blacksmiths and forging. Coals are needed to be hot in order to melt what is necessary. This Charger knows just how to do that, WITH FLAMMABLE LIQUID. It also uses its strong hooves to break and shape the hot metal
(cuz what else would you do with hooves XD ). Troublesome Tricksters usually try to mess with the metals but this clown charger's toxic skin says otherwise.
Whenever there is plenty of armor to go around the troops, he can then help engineers or architects' builders with their work. So that also means he gets little breaks. But when he does get one, he uses it to go a hot spring for some nice relaxation. His son, Aires, also comes by to deliver the best coals from fires he puts out.
Being in charge of three other workers means that Mercury can divide up the work that needs to be done in making and maintaining weapons so that he can just supervise and focus on obtaining the materials Tinsel, Lapis, and Orion so they can worry about the weapon making. Mercury also deals with keeping the Forge well lite and full of coals especially thanks to his son Aires as well as several of the fire dragons like Helena, Rudolph, and the Fire Flight explorers. He keeps the tree they work at safe and stocked to ensure that fires don't spread as well as handles finances and orders from the guilds and other buyers. Of course, after all is said and done, Mercury also makes items of his own at the Forge. Mercury makes armor for the clan from breastplates to helmets to more specialized items like adornments to make armor with a bit of style for some veteran fighters. He leaves more of the actual weapons to the others. Tinsel works on bows, Lapis on swords and spears, and Orion works on shields and axes. Every dragon is responsible for maintaining these weapons as well as they can get quite worn and damaged in battle or training. It is always better to salve as much as possible as metals can be hard to come by though if they do run low Mercury will as the Fossilized ferns or visit the Marigold Museum for more materials. On occasion, Mercury and the other Iron Blossoms will make ornate weapons and armor for the Museum to all other dragons in honor of battles that they won or for dragons that have fallen in others' lives. For example, Mist came to the clan after losing her parents and only sibling so Mercury made her an ornate birdskull headress in honor of them (her original clan loved birds and bird themed wear quite a bit).
