Miles

-Ghost hunter and Yael's old friend/occasional friend with benefits, hired by the council to deal with the port's haunting problem (turns out that the number of shady dealings and backstabbings that have gone down in the town over the centuries have left behind a lot of angry spirits AND the town is built atop a labyrinth of very old catacombs full of bodies who were never given proper burial rites, where the ghosts are understandably mad about the living people walking around)
-Geneva is bound to the cairnstone from her grave he carries everywhere and acts as his ghost hunting partner -- she can see and pass through walls, as well as being able to see other ghosts
-Miles can also see ghosts (although not as well) if he is in contact with the cairnstone, which is why he carries it on his back all the time
-Used to work on a dig in the Hewn City, where he met Yael. Outside of his friendship with her, he doesn't like to talk about it.
