Biography: The eldest daughter of a Royal family, ShaIrr never felt quite at home among her people. The land was rife with austerity, and yet she found herself wanting. Wanting of a more meaningful existence, a life where she was more than just a pretty thing to look at. Her parents often toted her around almost as a prize they had won, and before she had even learned to fly, she was told that one day the kingdom would be her's. But she didn't want it. As she came of age, her family anticipated her ascension to the crown to become the next Empress, but she felt no love for the idea, nor any desire to continue on in this existence. Despite numerous "friends" in the kingdom, none supported her thoughts of independence. No one listened when she preached about how their kingdom could do so much more. And absolutely no one would entertain the idea of her vacating the throne to be a pilgrim, traveling the world to learn of it's ails. So, the night before her coronation, she sought her escape. Under the guise of a commoner. She did all she could to hide her obvious royal lineage, betrayed by the gems that grew throughout her body. Somehow, despite many close calls, she was able to sneak out of the kingdom. Worried that her family would send guards to find her, ShaIrr flew for 3 days straight, spurred on by her desire to leave that life far behind her. It was then she met VirTuhl. On the third night of her exodus, exhaustion finally caught up with her, and she plummeted to the ground, unconscious and suffering many injuries due to a fall from that height. When she awoke, she found herself bandaged and warm, laying by a gentle fire in a clearing. The dark woods around her were foreign and shrouded in mystery, but a calming voice by the fire alleviated her fears. The two spent quite some time together while she recovered. VirTuhl would go off and hunt during the day, leaving ShaIrr alone for hours on end. Hours she spent fearing the moment when the Imperial guards would find her. As the days went on, her mind drifted from those fears and began to focus on her new companion. Strangely, he looked as royal to her as she did. The same Imperial markers shone across his coat in the form of platinum gems that covered him like armor. She could never figure out how that could be, considering all he'd told her about himself, but she felt glad that if anyone were going to find her collapsed in the wilds, it was he. They talked often, about important things like their pasts, and about trivial things like whether or not it would rain. ShaIrr was always right. She told him about her escape, and he told her about the difficult life he had lived as a denizen of the wilds. His stories of his painful past brought pain to her heart. She had no idea the world outside her kingdom was this bad, and she couldn't help but admire his stalwart mission to keep going despite the troubles that had been thrust upon him. His strength and strength of will impressed her immensely. The two grew close quickly, and soon fell in love. By the time ShaIrr had fully recovered, the two were even in talks of parenting. Unfortunately for them, they did not have too much time to themselves. One day, the sounds of guards searching for her reached the two, even this far from her kingdom. The two ran, and began a long period of escape, moving away from the kingdom and never staying in one place for too long. After years of running, the two finally were able to settle into a barren area far from ShaIrr's kingdom, in the land most unwelcoming to her people. Here, alone at last and undisturbed by the hunt for the Ex-princess, the two began their life together. As they built this home for themselves, they extended an open invitation to all who sought refuge and escape from their past lives. ShaIrr has been hardened by years on the run, but her heart remains warm and kind. She feels deeply for all under her charge, and will fight ferociously to defend them, even those not of her own clutch. Her love of her mate VirTuhl is also a source of power for her, as she can trust him with anything she cannot handle. As a Protector, it is both her duty and a magical compulsion to defend her fellow dragons and create a haven for all who seek it. |
