Dio
The Scild A Guardian and a Lightborn, Dio is incredibly dedicated to her moral code and protecting the clan. She cares deeply for most members of the clan, as she was taken into it at a young age and raised by Tess and Helsen, whom she regards as her second parents. The other dragons she shares a close bond with are Borealis, Krim and Eunys. Borealis is Dio's charge - the Guardian had taken to protecting Borealis since they were both still hatchlings. Agile and curious, the Spiral was quick to explore the lair and the outlying territories, and Dio would always tag along to make sure she didn't get into too much trouble. Krim was their occasional partner-in-crime, and a proxy charge for Dio as Borealis regarded him as a brother. Growing up with the two Spirals, Dio had her hands more than full, and continues to look after the two to this day. However, the most deciding and chaotic time of her life was her encounter with Eunys. As Eunys grew up, she challenged the entire clan (still very small back then) to test them. Dio became her main opponent in that conflict, being the only dragon large enough to really rival the Ridgeback's strength. The tension escalated quickly between the two, leading to the fight that half-destroyed the lair. Together with Iscra, another non-Wind dragon, Dio was able to make Eunys realize that the clan was strong enough to handle her presence and had its own strength. In the aftermath of the battle, Dio and Eunys developed a strange kind of intense hate-love, which became more balanced over time. At first they brawled almost daily, unable to discern what exactly it was they felt towards each other, but eventually came to respect and care for each other deeply as they grew more mature. You are still very likely to see the two sparring (before settling down to treat each other's wounds), though. There came a time where Dio had heard mention of a sister clan in the Rotrock Rim, they had once been Wind. She had ventured over to aid this Plague clan named Xanthorrhoeam, once there, she got caught up in a clan war against the hostile beastclans within the area. Everything was about survival, this made the beastclans of the area specifically violent. As a Guardian, it was against her nature to sit back and hold back with the hatchlings and parents, she fought valiantly and earned the respects of the Plague clan. |
