The sparse memories of their parents is shadowed with melancholy and a dread neither sibling could comprehend. But in the midst of the silence of those early days, sensations of affection and warmth did pierce through, though they did not last long. Separated not long afterwards, for their own safety, they were sent elsewhere to be raised, hopefully with no recollection of those tense days when still in their parents’ custody….

He is the youngest of two, but barely remembers his older sister, much less his parents—except for the rich tones of a woman’ vibrant voice speaking to him words muddled with time, but he likes to believe them as words of encouragement. Words that will help him wherever he winds up in life. A final, grasping attempt to believe that his parents had good reason to see him sent away at such a young age, forcing him to grow up not knowing who he was, where he was from, or where this powerful touch of magic had come from.

Often accused of being timid, he merely wishes to avoid confrontation, willing to take a bit of abuse in the name of keeping peace. His soul is restless, searching, but more than anything he desires a place in which he can belong, where he can be productive, helpful, and kind to his heart’s content.

And what of his family? Will he be able to remove all memory of his mother’s voice, or eventually will his restlessness send him on a path back towards wherever his true home is?
