Biography
Hirini stumbled into the clan in the dead of night, clutching her pearl even more tightly than most Pearlcatchers would. Injured and slow, she started to clamber towards the top of the tallest tree in the back, where the sun would first hit when it rose.
As Ulric and Sylvia made their rounds the next morning, checking on each dragon (and making sure that Bronte hadn't managed to accidentally knock down a tree - again), they found her, curled up into a ball with her pearl, slightly cracked and smeared with blood, pressed heavily against her chest. Unable to view her wound properly, Sylvia (with the best of intentions) attempted to shift the pearl. Hirini instantly shuddered awake and her wings snapped open, ready to take flight. However, the pain of moving so fast caused her to instantly collapse again.
When Hirini awoke next, she was bandaged and felt so much better. Slightly surprised, she sat up slowly, testing each muscle - indeed, everything was functioning, and she could have flown away - but she didn't. Noticing a tiny scrap of green material warapped around her neck, she thoughtfully turned it over in her claws, noticing a message scrawled onto the back in elaborate calligraphy: Welcome to Nature. Settling herself back down, her tail swished from side-to-side, rustling the leaves as she contemplated. Yesterday, she had thought she would never feel safe again, but now...
Smiling, she curled her tail around her legs and rested her chin onto the tree, "Thank you," she whispered.
A gasp ripples it's way through the clan - in a clan with no limits, no taboos, you've seemingly encountered the one thing nobody dares to speak about. Ulric surges forward, seeming like he is about to forcefully eject you from the clan's territory, but Hirini holds out a claw to stop him.
"No... it's alright." She takes a deep breath and clutches her pearl - still showing some cracks - to her chest before she begins speaking again.
"I was part of a noble family, back home. I won't say exactly where, if you don't mind - that's still too personal. Unfortunately, there was a war starting, and our estate was drafted - all of us."
She sits up and spreads her wings wide, showing her full size and fragility. "Now, I'm no fighter - I knew that even if I joined I'd be just a hindrance to them. I tried to argue against it, but both my family and the king were adamant that I join. So I ran. Chased by both the enemy and our own military forces, across the ocean... until I wound up here."
She'd obviously been forcing herself to speak faster than she was comfortable with (probably to get it over with quickly) as she sat down, panting for breath.
Ulric glances at you and takes up a defensive stance in front of her. "Now, if that answers your question, I ask that you let her rest."

Hirini, Where did you come from and why were you forced out of your home?
