Defense Against Dark Magic

B I O G R A P H Y

The night was dark, with almost no moonlight shining through the thick canopy of the forest. A lone Wildclaw, by the name Ikaroa, walked silently down a path, his footsteps making almost no sound against the thick, moist soil of the ground. The only light was being omitted from a small orb floating next to the dragon's head. It produced an eerie purple glow that only covered a small area, part of that being the side of the dragon's face. He was alone in the forest, but wasn't intimidated. There was something here calling to him, and he needed to know what it was.

After walking for about five more minutes, Ikaroa reached a clearing in the forest where some moonlight shined through to the ground due to the are without trees. Because of the sparse light, the area was less dark then the rest of the immediate forest, and the Wildclaw appreciated the newfound light. Twists of purple and gray brambles and small, bioluminescent flowers littered the ground of the clearing, forcing the dragon to watch his step so he didn't get spiked in the foot. In the middle of the clearing, a limp piece of fabric sat. It seemed that the plant life gave it a wide birth, because none of the various species were within two feet of the scrap.

Intrigued, Ikaroa gingerly began walking towards it, wings poised and ready to take off at the slightest hint of danger. It took him almost two minutes to travers to the center of the clearing, to the fabric. Seeing it closer shed light on the fact that it was actually a cloak. it look torn and ragged, and seemed to be glowing slightly with magic. Ikaroa gently picked it up, balancing the fragile fabric on one of his sharp claws. Strangely, it seemed to be exactly his size, so in a momentary lapse of judgement, he put it on. The cloak was cold and rough, but not uncomfortable. It made him feel whole, somehow. After a minute, the Wildclaw tried to gently take it off, but it seemed fused to his scales. He gulped, and tugged harder, his efforts only resulting in a small tear appearing on the hood. Ikaroa took a deep breath and flew off, deciding he would use a salve to get it off of him at his camp.
