GoldenLeaves is very determined and courageous. She can also be very persistent and will push herself to exhaustion to be the best she can. She has to be this way, you see, her life hasn't exactly been the easiest. Her biggest dream has always been to be an adventurer, flying across The Viridian Labyrinth to discover new friends and endless treasures.

That dream would have been impossible when GoldenLeaves hatched. She was endowed with unusually small and feeble wings. In her youth, Xenon, the clan healer, informed her that she would never fly. This crushed her dream of becoming an adventurer, however, she never truly gave up, because she wanted to prove the old healer wrong.

Every day GoldenLeaves went out in a secluded area to stretch and exercise her delicate wing muscles. She would flap them as long and as hard as she could. No matter how hard she tried, she wasn't able to get off the ground without jumping, and even then she would just come crashing down. The disheartened little tundra's hopes of being an adventurist plummeted more and more with each personal defeat.

As if that wasn't bad enough, GoldenLeaves was never picked for flying games by the other young dragons. She wasn't teased in the normal sense, however they called her "dainty", "fragile", "helpless", and "handicapped". These words hurt her in a way teasing and bullying couldn't. She would go home, feeling defeated and alone in her own mind, lay in her bed and cry herself quietly to sleep, dreaming of flying away to far distant lands.

One day, the clan's Chief Mechanical Engineer, Aydan, was tinkering around in her cavern. She looked out the window above her work station and noticed GoldenLeaves was walking around with her head down, looking miserable. Aydan knew why GoldenLeaves was so sad but wasn't really sure what could be done. All of a sudden inspiration hit her!

Aydan wondered "If she wasn't born with wings that could fly, perhaps she could fly with mechanical wings?" So with that, Aydan worked long into the night and constructed scrap metal wings. She wasn't able to test them prior to giving them to GoldenLeaves, so with a quiet prayer to the GladeMother, she presented GoldenLeaves with her new wings.

GoldenLeaves was overjoyed, she was squirming and wiggling as Aydan was fitting the wings into place. As soon as they were on, GoldenLeaves and Ayden went outside to try them out! Clumsily, GoldenLeaves took her first flight! Three flaps and "THUD!" Not wanting giving up, she tried again over and over. Within a few days, she got better at staying airborne. Soon she was soaring high above the lair and nothing could stop her from becoming GoldenLeaves, Adventurer Extraordinaire!
