Borealis and his mate Aurora were born for each other. Thousands of years ago, in the icy mountains of the North, an old Wizard had been creating the Northern Lights-or Aurora Borealis to shine in the cold winter night of his home land. He was the last in a line of wizards in his family who had this special job, for he had not borne any children and was left without a successor, so he stole two dragon eggs from different nests in the North and took to his Alchemy table to make sure they were born with the powers to create the magic of the Northern Lights.

He raised the two dragons and together the three would create the potions and magic to fill the sky with colors. After his passing, Borealis and Aurora took over full time and became skilled alchemists themselves. The two dragons fell in love, as the wizard had hoped, and became life-long mates and parents to the dragons who would be the future of the Northern Lights.

Borealis is a wise Alchemist, but he wasn’t always that way. As a young dragon he would make messes in the wizard’s home and overall was rather clumsy. He always envied Aurora because of this, because she was careful and gentle with her surroundings. As he grew older, Borealis tried to impress Aurora by training himself to be careful, and smart from reading all the books in the wizard’s collection.

Now, fully grown and with Aurora as his mate by his side, he has grown out of his clumsiness (for the most part). He and Aurora work tirelessly day and night to prepare for the Northern Lights and so their hatchlings are left under the care of a fae by the name of Milyealda at Lost Stars Hatchery. If you want one of this magical beasts, you can head over to the hatchery and adopt a little Alchemist of your own.
