Personality: A very eerie dragon. She gives off somewhat of an alien vibe, even by the Chiroptera Cult's standards. Very mysterious, she seldom talks, but makes plenty of creepy noises if she's annoyed. When she's agitated the shadows around her swirl and malicious whispers can be heard.
They hadn’t noticed at first. How could they? The nest had hatched during the darkest hour of All Hallows’ Eve night, when dark energies ran rampant and even the Moon was hiding behind clouds. Besides, Nyarai was restless, the strong pull of Death and even the Shade itself pulling on her insanity. She couldn’t wait for her nest to hatch, to finally be free to go back to her scavenging. Maybe even find an unfortunate dragon to set her mate on, to celebrate this glorious day. She didn’t care much about her hatchlings; sure, they were born on a special day, but her madness was stifling any maternal instincts she might have had one day. Nyllue didn’t care either; he had eyes only for his mate. So, when the nest of three hatched, Nyarai only did a quick check up on her babies, and, satisfied at their apparent good health, left them in the care of some other dragon of the Clan, to spend the rest of the night hunting. No one noticed the peculiar way the shadows were curling around little Raven. But they sure did notice when the Sun showed up. As soon as its rays touched her skin, Raven let out a shrill, unearthly scream of both horror and pain, before scrambling to find cover in what little shade she could find under a dead tree. Every dragon present stared in shock and curiosity at her hissing, shacking form, the shadows around her writhing and curling, seemingly in anger. No dragon was able to approach her during the whole day, not even her mother, mildly intrigued by her powers. The shadows surrounding her were instinctively lashing out at anything stepping foot into the shade of the tree. When night returned, so did Raven’s composure, and she went back to her nest, exhausted after being on edge all day long. It was obvious that Raven was not really a dragon. Not completely, at least. Her egg must have had been influenced by the Shade or some other dark forces, because she could control shadows at will, and even vanish completely in them. But she was extremely allergic to the Sun, and soon found the Scarred Wasteland and its lack of decent cover unbearable. She had to get out of there and find someplace safe were she could move during the day too. And what better place to find shadows, than in the Tangled Woods themselves? With her mind set, Raven left her family one night without even saying goodbye, and embraced the Shadowbinder’s call... Playlist: |
