Maarvulon

Long has the Skydancer been plagued by visions of dark tidings; visions of death and destruction. He soon came to understand that these visions were not set, but rather paths that the world could take. It comforted him slightly to know that, but it was not enough for the young dragon.

He loved his birth lair, but as time passed he knew it wasn’t for him. The days he would be caught staring at nothing, the nights he woke violently from on his own. These perhaps may not seem like much, but it only served as a reminder just how different he was. Then one night he saw a vision that if he stayed with his birth clan, he would die and early death. From what, he didn’t know, but he knew then that he had to leave. He sought out permission to leave immediately. Once it was given he gathered his small pile of things, said his quiet goodbyes, and left. For those in his old clan, that was the last they ever heard of him.

As he journeyed throughout Sornieth, the name Maarvulon came to him one night. One week later he discovered it’s meaning; Terrifying Night. It wasn’t long after that that the Skydancer chose it as his name, shedding his birth name.

The visions made Maarvulon’s nights restless, leaving him even more tired in the morning. And it was an exhausted Maarvulon that crawled into the Dolus clan’s territory. The guards quickly sent for Krasaarkiir, the clan’s healer, while helping Maarvulon into the clan proper. Krasaarkiir quickly began to work, and soon enough she gave the tired Skydancer something to help keep the visions at bay at least for a night. It was the first time in a long while that he slept peacefully.

Days passed as Maarvulon gathered strength to leave on his journey to find a home once more, but once he was able, he found himself unwilling to leave. The dragons within Dolus welcomed him into their fold with barely any questions. They accepted his restless nights with gifts of tea and other things for easy sleep. He came to realise that he found his new home. It didn’t take much longer for him to choose to stay.
