Biography
XXXAlmost Twin Generous | Self-Sacrificing || Fussy | Odd |
The voice cuts itself short as you enter the room, a pearlcatcher glaring at you as though you've interrupted an important conversation. She clutches her pearl close to her chest.
Most assume she talks to herself, writing it off as a small eccentricity for an otherwise pleasant dragon to have. If others knew, they would feel pity for the pearlcatcher and what is hidden below layers and layers of her pearl. The first seed of disaster she sensed was her twin in the egg, their death throes inaudible in the slightly off-kilter beating of their heart. She didn't know it then, but when she struck out in the egg and killed her sibling, she prevented something terrible years down the line. By the time she had hatched, any hint of the vision that prompted action had faded and the remnants of her sibling was concealed within the innermost layers of their pearl. No one tried to stop Euphemia when she left her birth Clan; she had stayed there for a while but hadn't forged any real bonds with other dragons, all hopes of an easy friendship lost in her seemingly incoherent mumbling and increasingly weird behavior. She was nice, and generous to a fault, but that wasn't enough to balance out her creepy aura. Besides, no one could really understand was she was going through, with her twin, that other her talking from deep within her pearl. That voice, sometimes benevolent, sometimes definitely not so, was slowly drawing her mad. Though Euphemia had inadvertently erased the threat that her Shade-touched twin posed to Sornieth, she could not save her own mind from the Shade's influence, in the form of that insidious little voice in her head. But thankfully, occasionally her sister's true voice pierced through the darkness, allowing them to have joyful conversations in their shared mind. But the more time passes, the more she can feel the darkness growing, pulling, raging, and she's so afraid, because she can feel it escape her control, and she doesn't know how long she can hide the pitch black eyes in the shadows of her wings... |
