The lanterns danced in the breeze as the clouds rolled in. Standing in the middle of the road, he turned his gaze upwards as the rain drops began to fall. They rolled off his face, slowly, dripping into his eyes and blurring his vision. He lowered his head and stared silently at the distant lanterns-- all he could see was their amber light, obscured by the rain in his eyes, looking like glowing ghosts in the dark. Lonely, yet somehow comforting as the only light in this darkness... -  -Hollow leads a quiet life in the Court. He rises with the moon, and sets as the sun rises, simple as that. He goes about his nightly business traveling through the bamboo forests in pitch blackness, followed only by small embers that seem to emanate from his physical being. What he does out in the forests isn't quite known by most in the clan-- it seems that whenever they attempt to follow him, all they find are the embers, floating and flickering in the shadows. Few have managed to find Hollow during his time alone, but they've said they could never be sure if it truly was him; his face always seemed to be masked in blackness. All they could see were the embers, surrounding his blood colored body. Like a headless corpse, standing in the middle of a clearing in the forest. During the day, however, it seems all returns to normal. He still keeps quiet, but others are able to speak to him normally if necessary. He never answers the questions about his previous night; it doesn't seem like he ignores them, but rather that he cannot hear them at all. 
When the harvest season arrives, many BoneShard members say that Hollow...changes, in strange ways. His eyes darken and his embers almost disappear entirely. It's as though the burdens of the previous seasons have placed themselves entirely on his shoulders. He spends more time in the forest, leaving nothing behind but scattered trails of ashes. The mostly quiet dragon can be heard in the distance, somewhere in the darkness. He lets out haunting, pained groans of sorrow. A chill blows through the bamboo afterwards, followed by ashes in the breeze, like a fire somewhere far off has been carried away by the winds. He is an odd creature. |
