Sluice is leader to the elementals in the clan, who represent, care for, and interpret the whims of certain aspects of the natural world. Some of these dragons are so in touch that they hardly have personalities- Sluice himself behaves more like a spirit than a dragon- while others have a clear balance between their dragon selves and spiritual selves.

More than other dragons, Sluice was affected by the Tidelord's silence, and the clan's transition following. Previously a content and joyous water spirit, Sluice is now quite sluggish and hardly interacts with other dragons. He prefers to wander near the wetland pools, slipping in periodically on habit to listen for his lost deity. He always emerges more aimless than he had been before. With time, Swift hopes Sluice will embrace the qualities of their new home and its more spiritually rich waters.
