Cerberos

A library built on an island in the middle of a lava lake. It’s a lot of work in theory and even more work in practice. A lave lake really doesn’t provide the best climate for a library. The heat can damage (or even ignite) books and scrolls. Not just dust, but also ash, would pollute every open surface. And that doesn’t even begin to factor in the potential damage that visitors pose without the extra dangers.

Cerberos took what others thought was a naïve dream and made it a wondrous reality. He worked together with engineers and ice dragons to design a system that could sustain a suitable climate for maintaining a library of knowledge.

Cerberos now happily runs the Grand Library of the Caligonian Empire as its head archivists. He normally spends most of his days inside to tend to the many works stored inside. However, he does occasionally venture out to procures to add more to his collection.
