History-

We all know that story of the long lost princess who finds her way home and lives happily ever after. Well, how about the story of a princess who found her way home, then lost it all over again? Sounds interesting enough. So meet Aspen.

She hatched to a very powerful clan, a clan where they actually had a distinguished monarchy, including a king and queen. The king was her father. His older brother was supposed to have gotten the throne, which his parents had denied him. He was even more angry when he was brought out of the spot of successor due to the birth of Aspen. This led him to do something awful.

Aspen was still a baby, lying in the nest where the clan hatchlings slept, when the king’s wicked older brother came in. The furious Wildclaw grabbed Aspen up, a hand over her small mouth to keep her silent. She tried to scream as she felt herself being hoisted into the air, but she could do nothing.

Vormag, the evil dragon in question, flew all the way to the Plague flight’s territory, where he dropped her. She landed hard on the ground, in boarders that were not her own. Aspen, young and very frightened, scampered into a small cave, where she cried and cried and cried.

The next morning, she woke up in new surroundings. A wasteland. With seven huge Ridgebacks standing over her, glaring down at her. They argued about what to do with her. The suggestions ranged from throw her out of the territory to rip her throat out here and now. She whimpered, then cursed herself for making noise.

It was then that all of the Ridgebacks turned their eyes on her, all of them burning red. They turned her into a simple servant who did all their dirty work, giving her to a cruel Mage in the clan. She did as the Mage ordered, and she picked up quite a few tricks when it came to voodoo and magic.

Whenever she found a free minute, Aspen practiced magic. She knew it could be used to her advantage if she played her cards right. Soon, she was better at casting than all of the Mages in the clan.

They sent her out on an errand in the Tangled Woods one day, and she ran into a Wildclaw who looked an awful lot like her father. She reached into his mind, and she immediately saw the truth. It was Vormag. The uncle who had dragged her away from her family all those years ago.

He lunged at her, and she had no choice when she used a spell that put him to sleep. She went back to her birth clan and met back up with her father and mother. Shockingly, they both recognized her, and all of them flew into a hug. Everyone was so happy to have the princess back, but that happiness did not last long.

Vormag returned with her clan. The Ridgeback Plague clan. They wanted their property back, princess or not. There was a great battle, and it was horrible for Aspen to watch. She tried to help, but the king ordered to guards to keep her back. Unfortunately, most of the clan was killed. After that, the few remaining members, including her mother and father, were forced to split up.

Aspen went her own way, her heart heavy with grief. She ended up finding a home with a clan in the Sea of A Thousand Currents, where she studied magic far more in depth than ever before. She soon became the clan witch doctor, studying voodoo as well as the black arts.


Personality-

Aspen likes fashion, surprisingly enough. She picks up odds and ends around camp and takes delight in using them to create interesting and Mage-like designs. Her style reflects the dark arts and voodoo she studies. Yet somehow, there is a royal presence that lurks underneath.

Aspen chose to pursue a life of good despite her dark history. She often tries to forget said past, but it burrows itself deeper into her mind. Nothing made it go away, and she knows that nothing ever will. This Bogsneak is excellent at stealth however, and she even found a way to conjure spells to turn invisible. It’s very quite impressive.

Now, being of royal blood, there are some things that were inherited along with her wisdom and quick wits. One of these things is stubbornness. Honestly, if this Bog has her mind made up, there is literally no changing it. She always seems to think her opinions are correct, even if they’re completely illogical.

This points to arrogance. One can’t fairly say that Aspen is arrogant, however. Though she does possess quite a large amount of pride. Who could blame her? A leading authority on voodoo and magic who also has royal bloodlines? What is there not to be proud of?

Aspen is very clever as well. She is a very independent thinker who makes choices based on her brain and her heart. Her proud spirit and strong will practically invite challenge. Challenge that she can easily dismiss.

Out of all the dragons in the clan, it’s safe to say that Aspen is the strangest. After all, why should a lost princess concern herself with a clan that is meager compared to the sheer might of her birth clan? And more importantly, why would a princess bother learning witchcraft? Nothing seems to add up with her.

Despite her differences, Aspen is also loved by the clan. She helps them when they are in need, and she instructs new Mages in how to properly channel their magical abilities. Aspen loves the more unconventional parts of magic, by which I mean the parts of it she grew up around.

Beyond all this, Aspen is very generous. She will go out of her way to help dragons in need, and she is willing to cause herself some real problems if it means others will be safe or free from something that would have otherwise hurt them. Nothing makes Aspen happier than helping her clanmates.

This Bogsneak is a good one. Though she is easily blackmailed with information about her dark past, Aspen is a very powerful witch who can do just about anything with her voodoo. She is even learning the mechanics of time travel. Needless to say, this girl might be aloof, but she has her reasons. You can believe that.
