Gawain, Wizardly Scholar
Book Keeper
(who would you be if not you?)

“Magic is dangerous - but love is more dangerous still...”

For quite some time his old clan had contact with the one he found himself currently living him. It wasn't a serious relationship, but they share a border and so occasionally they'd run into each other on patrols or their leaders would meet to confirm they were still at peace. A nod at a passing scout wasn't unusual, and he's gotten to know one or two of them fairly well. One of them even had a parent in his clan so he liked to keep the father updated on the little knights progess.

In fact he hadn't even considered leaving his clan until there was a brush with death and he had to bring back one of their mystified clan members and an outsider who had saved them. She was a pretty imperial, but at the time she'd worried him more than intrigued him. The magic she used was unfamiliar to the land and could have been dangerous-especially since she could rouse the dead.

Having been a sort of scholar himself when it came to spells he spent the next few days reading his book while she was in a coma like sleep. For some reason he felt an urge to stay until she recovered at the very least. Where had she come from? Why was she here? According to their clans' Ambassador she was from the Nature realm and was one of their more powerful leaders daughters.

It took a lot of arguing on both his part and the Imperial female (who he now knows as Hecate) to convince them to let her stay. At least, until they figured out why the spiral she reanimated was still flying as if he hadn't been dead in the first place. He's taken her on as a study partner and a sort of apprentice depite her being better with certain areas of magic. (He's also technically her bodyguard)
