Ritrovalo

Ritrovalo is, in the most kind of terms, a simple dragon. She does not ask for much, as she does not want much. It started when she was a hatchling; she saw many of the other dragons of her lair with their beautiful colors and pristine genes, and then she looked once more upon her own coat and was sad. However, despite this, Ritrovalo is a very down to earth dragon, and will not fail to be blunt if the situation requires. She was used to no one complimenting her on her own beauty, instead going to look at the other, more flashy dragons of her lair. She knew, however, that she was, in a sense, valuable. Her species was not known for being common, and many prized their Bogsneaks for their unique body type and colors. Therefore, it came as no surprise when a low-level Arcane lair came asking for her to join their own lair; she had analyzed the facts (as she normally did) and had assumed they planned to use her for breeding. It did surprise her, however, when the leader of said lair complimented her on her colors and stayed to chat with Ritrovalo over googling at the other dragons. When she very clearly asked the leader why this was, she simply smiled and said, "We have so many dragons in this world with a beautiful coat and shiny wings. What we don't have, and what I intend to make, is personality. You have personality, and your colors aren't not pretty either. I'm not going to lie and say that there won't be any breeding because there will. There will also be friendships and hardships, love and hate. I've heard from a couple of people around that you're a simpleton. Is that correct?" The now mute dragon merely nodded. "This will not be a simple life, I can assure you of that. There will, of course, be the simple pleasures, but you will also have to make important decisions that will decide the fate of several, possibly even your offspring. So. I am here to ask. Join me?" The leader extended a hand, and Ritrovalo hesitated. Should she? If she did it would go against all of her personal codes of being simple, and not getting into the complicated lives of the lairs, the breeders, and whatnot. If she agreed, she'd be diving in headfirst. However, despite her inward arguments, a small voice suddenly cried out from the inside. So when Ritrovalo, with caution-shrouded eyes, nodded to the lair leader, she wasn't thinking of what would happen next. No, that was too complicated. What she was thinking of was why the voice of herself, as a hatchling had cried out inside of her, but even more puzzling was- why did she listen?
When finally arriving at the lair, Ritrovalo created many relationships with the dragons around her. After some time of getting to know her, many of the dragons of the clan go to her for pure, honest advice that would neither withhold anything or say too much. She would just, quite simply, say it as it is. They also knew how to get on her good side, just by bringing some food or an offer to scratch that one place on her back that she couldn't reach. Needless to say, she agreed. However, Ritrovalo created an even stronger bond with the Skydancer dragoness known as Alanis, who, like her, was new to the lair. Alanis knew much more of the world than any of the other dragons there, as she was substantially the oldest dragon there. Ritrovalo often confused herself in the decisions she made; Alanis was the reincarnation of the beautiful, flashy dragons that had sneered down on her as a dragonet. But...she found herself wanting to know more about this fancy world of the beautiful, one that had never presented itself to her before now. Alanis was the perfect candidate for this information, as she had bred with three males and had birthed many offspring. It also helped that Ritrovalo was the second-oldest dragon in the lair, though still young. When thinking to herself why she had involved herself in this crazy world, a thought came to her that thoroughly shocked the Bogsneak. Why don't you just go with it? It said. Who knows? You're definitely going to have some adventures, and you're going to meet with many interesting dragons. You've already met Alanis, and you've already become friends. It's too late to back out now, and if you're entirely honest... do you want to? As she silently comprehended these words, the Bogsneak scoffed and shook her head before placing it on her claws. She was surprising herself today, she thought as her mind, and heart, agreed to what the little inner voice had said.
