Early Ice History.....

Yaegar thundered down to land on Zolin's & Kristal's watchrock. A mess of twigs, leaves & debis, looking more like a GladePop than himself.
'Oh My! Oh My!' he muttered to himself.
'What?' Kristal asked as she picked off bits of foliage & twig from his wings & coat, as if an everyday occupation.
'You need to see' said Yaegar 'I did not know!' in a low whisper.
'Please to follow?' he asked.

The team followed him back to the cleft in the wall, about three quarters of the way up the valley. Fronted by several well sized shrubs that bordered a good stream. They felt it safe, as not one large beast could be seen on the journey back. Yaegar entered with the others close behind.
'Here, Please to help it? Kristal?' Yaegar's voice was one of sorrow.
Kristal found the tiny cub, which was starting to chill. With wisdom beyond her age, she set to work. Wrapped the little one in a scarf from her bag & passed the bundle to Yaegar.
'Here, hold it close for a while. Not too tightly mind you!' she smilingly told him.

Moving to the rear of the cavern she found water, running & dripping down the wall into a natural basin like pool. Plunging her front legs up to her elbows to soak them, then quickly returned to where Yaegar was curled around the cub. From her bag she drew out a paw full of plump pale grey grubs, placing them on the outcrop of rock crushed them to paste with the water running down her two front legs.
'Pass me the child, Yaegar'
Gently rewrapping the the now warm cub, & with great care scooped up some of the grub paste & smeared a streak under the tip of the cubs nose. Within a short while the tiny pink tongue was licking the nose clean, again & again Kristal smeared the nose, until its eyes drooped ready for sleep. Kristal turned & beamed a beautiful smile at Yaegar.
' You have a new child to care for Yaegar, might not be Dragon kind, but it will be yours' she quipped.
'Name it well'
Gently tucking the bundle into his bag, rolling back the flap to become a cradle of sorts. Yaegar dipped his head in thanks.
Zolin now back from exploring the cavern, leant his head close to Kristal's cheek & whispered.
'Well done my child' beaming with pride & affection.
