JC is the product of Lightning meddling and Shade plants. Created from the copied memories and personality of Jacob, she was supposed to be a replacement for the human, who would be used to further the Shade’s ambitions. However, JC found her way to the Den when she was pushed out into the world, and with the help of the AI, learned of her creation and that she was her own person (though she is still uncertain who that is). She also helped break into the compound in the shifting expanse where Leon has taken Jacob, and aided in his rescue.

The Pearlcatcher likes to stay near the Ai and Jacob, and considering they're the only ones who know about how she came to be, it’s understandable. When she isn't with them, she’s either exploring around the Den’s outside exterior, talking with Thirteen, or in her lair deeply engrossed with her pearl- her own memories were supposedly stripped from it, so she sorts through the memories that were forced on it, digging to see if anything of her remains and learns about Earth in the process.

JC is a little spacey and prone to depersonalization, given her lack of identity, but she’s also very curious and hopes to learn about everything. She also wants to learn more about the Shade so that she can help fight it, and especially wants to hunt down leon and give him due justice. She can be a little easily overwhelmed, due to her lack of exposure to the world, and can be confused when the memories from her pearl muddle reality, but considering her past she is incredibly lucid.
