Raziel

A flash of lightning and a cry of terror. The young abandoned nocturne fled from the scene of his parents departure in hopes of finding shelter from a raging storm. He ducked under a bush in order to stay out of the rain but it did the little one no good. The thunder cracked and lightning whipped across the sky, reflecting in his tear filled eyes like ghosts.

"Little one, are you okay?" a voice questioned and he flinched at the sound of another. He turned to see a large dragon hovering over the bush with golden eyes. He was the same color as the night causing him to appear more as a shadow than another being. He whimpered again and the nocturne grabbed him up by the neck to carry him inside.

From that day on, he stuck to Tadonai's side as if he was his father much to the dismay of his partner Infiniti. At some point when Raziel was more grown she approached him with a troubled mind.

"I don't want to say this, really I don't little flame," she said using the nickname her and Tadonai adopted for him. "But we will be leaving for a while and you cannot come with us this time. You must stay here so I arranged for you to study to become a mapmaker with a few others."

The words that fell on his ears were wounding though they weren't intended to be rude at all. She placed a hand on his head and continued. "I have no idea how long we will be gone but I wish you luck in your studies." With that, Tadonai and Infiniti left on an adventure meant for two while young Raziel stayed back and become an emotionless void of facts and knowledge.

His mind strengthened over time and he became a messenger in order to finally see his adoptive parents once more but he was never able to find the traveling pair. Instead he eventually found himself the apprentice of the most scatter brained mapmaker, only carrying messages through the world when Archaea was not in need of assistance which was a rare occasion indeed.
