Biography
Xochiquetzal had been searching far and wide to find a very special dragon, one who could take up the mantle of a peaceful healer. Zira was becoming a fine doctor under the instructions of Mortivii, but she was still more focused on the research and development of medicines. What Xochi needed was a quiet soul, someone who focused more on spiritual energies in healing than in research. Yes, Zira had her role, but there was no comforter, no gentle presence to support her.
Finally, after much searching and many trials, Xochi found her, the one she was looking for. While gliding close to the Cloudsong, she saw a sign advertising a young healer looking for a clan to adopt her services. With a glimmer of hope, Xochi soared a little higher to reach the lair's floating platform. As she looked into the little pearlcatcher's eyes, Xochi knew she had found the healer she sought. The adolescent's father was one of the healers of his clan so she had a good knowledge base to work with. Unbeknownst to her parents, the young healer dreamed of the warm fur coat of a Tundra, and a smooth underbelly instead of sparkling gems. As she discussed her conditions for joining the clan, Xochi nodded gravely. For this one, she would make those dreams happen.
"And what name would you desire?" This was the final question and the final test as Xochi already knew what name would be chosen. The clan seer, Itotia, had received the name in a dream, and Xochi could not approve the young healer unless she picked the right name.
"Anuqa," said the candidate. "In one of the tundra languages, it means 'wind' and my spirit longs for the energy and music of the breezes that fill my wings."
Xochi was overjoyed. This was the one she sought! "Then, welcome, Anuqa, to the Clan Byxmori! May you ever find peace with us." She smiled a broad and somewhat creepy coatl smile as she paid the adoption price.
Some years later after the emergence of the Obelisks, Anuqa decided that they were an even more accurate fit for the form she desired most. So, after petitioning the treasury for the necessary price, she was granted her final and most comfortable form.
Personality:
Anuqa is a quite sort of soul, but always ready to jump into action if someone in her clan is injured or unwell. When not healing she can usually be found doing odd jobs around the lair, humming quietly to herself. She is also often found in the kitchens, making some new recipe, because she believes that good food is just as important as good herbal remedies.
She keeps her pearl safely in the pouch that contain her medicinal herbs. While it will always be small, it will always be very important to her.
Upon becoming a tundra dragon, her heightened sense of smell did wonders to help her detect illness in others, though they themselves may not have known. But, with that hightened sense, her memory became a little more rusty. She tries to keep important notes in her herb pouch, but often forgets dates and prearranged plans.
