Karl has as many skills as he has problems. Which is to say, a lot. No one truly feels comfortable in his presence, causing him to be left alone most of the time. Just how he likes it. He only speaks when he truly needs to, and even then his sentences are short and precise. Efficient, just like everything else he does. He's as hard-working as a Lightning dragon, as fascinated with magic and forbidden knowledge as those born under the Light and Arcane elements, as deep and mysterious as the Tidelord's servants, and as fierce and merciless as the great Plaguebringer likes. Karl is most feared for the cruelty he can bring upon other dragons; rumors say that those foolish enough to cross him are sure to experience a fate far worse than death. The fact that he often functions as the unofficial executioner of the Order does nothing to deter those sentiments. Despite this, Karl is usually rather quiet and calm. And those who can get over the dangerous aura emanating from him and manage to strike him as worthy enough to have a conversation with... they'd even say he can be quite pleasant. Most of his time is spent working in his laboratory. One of his greatest skills is his ability to combine machine with living parts, and it has served the Order well on many occasions. Be it the manufacturing of prosthetics to replace lost body parts, the revival of fallen warriors, the creation of new life from dead parts...Karl has an answer to it all. The only thing the Order isn't very fond of is his obsession with their initial, now long abandoned plan: the revival of the massive monster they have fashioned their lair out of. Karl is strictly forbidden from attempting anything of this sort, and officially, he has quietly conceded...but it wouldn't be the first time that another one of the clan's scientists has come across a few of Karl's notes detailing the revival process of the Colossus. No one is comfortable with this. But as bad as that is, it's not like exiling Karl from the clan or even executing him would be a viable option. He's done too much good for the Order to justify such an action. Everyone can only hope that he will see reason and realize that reviving the mutated emperor (or whatever else it may be) would only cause uncontrollable death and destruction. ...but maybe that's what he wants. LORE Karl's dad. Just like his mate Luise, he's not dead but not entirely alive either. They have their son to thank for that. Neither he nor his mate asked for this, and yet here they are. No one really knows why they are. Maybe not even Karl. Walther isn't so sure what to think of his son anymore. Truly, he is quite proud of all that he has achieved, even without his guidance... but he can't help but feel that his boy has gone too far. Is gone too far, perhaps. Sometimes he wonders if part of it is his fault. He does his best to embrace his new life, or whatever it is. It's not like he was given a choice. |

LORE Karl's mom. Along with her mate Walther, she was brought back from the dead by their son, for reasons unknown. Whereas Walther had trouble adjusting to his not quite alive body, Luise found herself enjoying hers. Frankly, she was not sure what to think of her son anymore and what he had done, but she had to admit that she was most impressed with his capabilities. Undoubtedly, there was a lot of darkness involved in the ritual that brought them back. And it rubbed off on Luise, perhaps a little more than intended, and definitely more than it has on her mate. She can't help it. The darkness makes her feel strong. Powerful. More so than she has ever felt before. |
