Kingsclaw Mage, frost-touched and fire-damaged
Rogue mage of the Kingsclaw, priest of Esmyth's order. "I may be blind, but I see clearer than you! Jaxx, you lead us to our deaths, and if you cannot see that than I cannot be sure why we follow you at all. You may sing us your threats, and wring from us every drop of blood while you can; for soon we shall be spent and you shall be alone." A haunting song played through the Hewn City. Wind fluttering through the broken buildings sang a foul tale, to those who would listen. How could anyone sleep when such spirits called so solemnly? To go to them would mean death, but how could one resist their siren's song? Those who could not hear would be untouched, but Varkas was no such dragon. Perhaps it was unfair to say they had not ears, for it was not their fault he'd enhanced his scenting and hearing after losing his vision. It'd been a simple enough spell, and now it felt more a curse. Varkas lay still against the marble floor of the cathedral in which his allies slept. Their leader had commanded rest, but he could not hear these these ghostly wailings. He did not know of their torment, nor would he endure their cries. I cannot think, I cannot sleep, damn it all! I must follow them, and I know I cannot. Perhaps...perhaps if I could convince someone to come with me..? That pink fae, perhaps; he's not the toughest, but that way I could-- No! I must not, if I am to go I am not to bring an excuse with me, no, I need a proper guardian if I am to-- what am I thinking? I cannot go! Varkas writhed on the ground, lashing his tail and hissing quietly. He oculd not cause too much a scene; didn't want his allies questioning anything. This town is a curse; a stain upon all that is good. The wrongness of the town was marked. Clear as day for those of us with any vision at all; if those baboons don't see it, than they're blinder than I. |
