Morfael

Morfael is the rather enigmatic storyteller of the lair, usually spinning new tales or spicing up the classics. Despite how expressive he can be in both conveying his stories and his usual smile though, sometimes it can be difficult to discern what he's truly thinking. He doesn't appear to take much seriously, but somehow simultaneously manages to have a calm and wise air about him. When he's telling his latest tale there's nothing he loves more than keeping a captive and anticipating audience, but when it isn't story time it's like a switch is flipped and he prefers keeping to himself in one corner of the lair of another. When he's alone some think he's brainstorming his next story, some think he's brooding on whatever past he has, and some don't know what to guess.
When he decides to tell his next story he never holds back from making it into a show, painting a picture with vivid description, gestures, and even the occasional prop or two. The eyes of hatchlings sparkle with wonder and even adults tilt their heads in intrigue at the tales he weaves. He likes to keep it that way, and always encourages the use of imagination in others. He believes stories are more pure and unique when only spoken though, so he refuses to have written copies of them.
When asked about his life before coming to the lair, he insists on only one answer. That he was a prince from a far, far away underground kingdom of gold, crystal, and precious gem. He also claims the subtle runes on his crystalline hide are proof of his noble heritage. Given his talents for storytelling it is unknown if this claim is true or just another of his stories. Some think he made his own backstory on a whim, some think he's hiding something, but few actually believe him. Regardless of what others believe he refuses to elaborate more on the subject, either brushing it off or ignoring other questions entirely. Despite this though, it is no secret he is grateful for the hospitality of the clan.

Headcannons:
-Sleeps with his eyes open, sometimes making it hard to tell if he's daydreaming or asleep.
-Keeps a secret hoard of gems and jewelry.
-Remembers every tale he's ever told.
-Loves his proverbs. Even ones that sound odd or don't make a lot of sense.
-Adores playing with hatchlings, as he loves seeing their creativity and naive curiosity, but refuses to admit it.
