Perhaps one of the Burrow's most fearless dergs, Kismet proudly holds the title 'Beastkeeper' - both keeper and tamer of the Burrow's many Familiars, and is rarely seen without a sizable troupe of creatures behind her.

Like many of Nature origin, Kismet is of a nurturing disposition - and as such, it often comes as great shock to those who have never before seen her stand her ground against the newest feral creature that has been brought back home.

The two young Faes had been abandoned.
That much was anybody's guess, the only scent on them was each other, no lingering scent of a parent or guardian. However, getting close to the pair was proving to be a challenge, with both ends of the end Darktouched Chimera bearing it's fangs and Cursed Bat in front of them, watching the patrol with wary eyes. Behind the creatures - which were very small and obviously quite young themselves, the two hatchlings looked between the beasts and the dragons and each other.

And then something very odd happened.

The brighter of the pair made a soft series of clicks and - both heads still fixed on the strangers - the Chimera made it's way to crouch by their side. Then, the darker of the pair let out several higher clicks, and the batling skittered to their side.

The brighter hatchling came closer first, Chimera close. They looked at the patrol, body and eyes, and turned to their sibling and spoke very quietly, half muffled by the fluttering of it's wings. The other fae said something, then, batling in tow, came to settle beside their sibling - and two pairs of very dark green eyes turned to the patrol expectantly.

• absolutely hates the cold, and is rarely ever seen without her lucky scarf.

• the author of several highly regarded books about taming, caring and bonding with your familiar, alongside a bestiary book which catalogues Sornieth's many creatures.
