Ever since he was a hatchling, Dove had always been found resting near bodies of freshwater. His habit was never questioned until his disappearance, right after another dragon's - and, given the tall tales told about the first, many had worried that Dove had been kidnapped.

Dove, too, returned after Beau did - instead of an abduction, Dove claimed to have found a new species of aquatic monster and gotten lost following it downstream, learning magic from a mentor in exchange for taking care of their gilled familiars. His return was met with friendly welcomes, and Dove, too, was ecstatic to be back.
