Commander of the Hunt

The shadows always intrigued Theron.
From shadow puppets to the mystery of the Hewn City, the places the light didn't touch always seemed to whisper home. It was just another fact which appeared to set Theron even further at dd from her fellow hatchlings. Where they clambered to get a look in on and join physiological debates, Theron planned her tricks and executed them with such craftiness it was almost vulpine. On the occasion when she stumbled across a topic amidst the sea of debates that garnered her interest, she would, more often than not, flatten her opponent with her eloquence and sharp wit; manipulation of words was came easily to her. Her parents were often frustrated with her nature; their firstborn child sulking around in the shadows. They were a noble family, rich and powerful and hungry to climb higher. They found their saving grace in their daughter's affinity for games, introducing her to chess. Theron fell in love with the game. Her dedication and skill soon caught the eye of the Council. (...) |

Theron was born into a Light Clan, but even from a young age was more often than not at odd with her fellow hatchlings. Capricious in nature, she preferred to play games and tricks than engage in physiological debates - though on occasion when she did come across a topic that interested her, she would flatten her opponent with her sharp wit. Manipulation came easy to her.
As she grew, she became part of the hunting patrol; something it was very apparent she excelled at. However, there were those within the clan who tried to push her to take a scholar job, with her eye for strategy and way with words. To plan battles and hunts, not be apart of them. She found them insolent; looking down upon those who did their all to provide for the clan that allowed them to dedicate their time to other things. Despite her disinterest, the council continued to push her to take a rank she did not want, even refusing to let train as a hunter. So, she left. Travelling for some time, nameless, having to perfect her hunting tactics on the move. Her skills grew; not quite the clean techniques she had seen being used by the hunters of her birth clan, but sufficient at any rate. • secretly likes to play chess relationships |
