Biography
Syn: Norse goddess of defensive refusal.
Clan Gatekeeper
Brash, cunning, imposing, intelligent, loyal.
A rare creature, Syn is of the blood of the first Imperials. A child of royalty, she found that in her time of maturity a new home was befitting, where she would not live in the shadow of her worshiped lineage. Wishing love to her family and the clan that raised her, Syn traveled instead to find a land where her face would be new and her success was her own.
Though many nearby clans knew of her status, it didn't take long to enter into foreign lands among the Broodmother's expanse. As she neared the other end of the Wyrmwound, Syn observed an Imperial standing in the silence of the Wasteland, where the Boneyard met the Rim. Still as a statue, the creature didn't bat an eye at her presence, and instead shifted marginally to allow her entry. Curious, Syn accepted the Imperial's offer and moved forward into the Rim's intimidating mass. As she came closer upon the Plaguebringer's brew itself, the silhouette of a Ridgeback stood along the edge, his open-mouthed grin the only thing illuminated by the neon green light.
Impressed by her imposing stature and cunning nature, the Ridgeback introduced himself as Scythe. He was a parentless child of the old days, when the Wasteland was young and growing, like her parents and yet so much younger. Intrigued, Syn found herself spending hours conversing with the unstable individual. In that time, her decision became clear and with Scythe's approval, she earned her membership into the clan.
Scythe offered her position as his personal gatekeeper, the dragon responsible for protecting the high ranks from unnecessary or hostile meetings. Of the foreigners who were lucky enough to avoid Kalma and break through, it was Syn who always outwitted them. To those who would make it thus far, she would offer them passage if they answered a riddle or told her one she could not answer herself. During this meeting, Syn could gauge the character of a dragon simply by listening to them speak and therefore would sometimes offer passage to the ones who were wrong. It is not known what happens to the unfortunate souls who fail her test.
