Biography
The Library Director
One of the members of the High Council, Sabaa is responsible for managing the library collection and she is the chief of the eleven flight librarians.
***
Many grown dragons remember Sabaa fondly from when they were but little hatchlings… although the sight of her also makes some of them start or look away, no doubt remembering the times she sternly (but fairly) scolded them for a mishap.
Watch her now as she walks with purposeful strides between the tall shelves of the clan library, a smaller shelf ingeniously fashioned from a plank and two lengths of rope dangling from her wing. These are the books she's reading now; if asked why, or how, she would reply that there is so much knowledge in the world, and so little time, that she simply cannot endure to read one single book at a time. Her mind, in fact, is so keen that she can easily keep track of every tome, every chapter, every page. Sometimes, incredulous dragons take one of the books and open it to a page at random. If it's something she already read, she will, more often than not, quote it almost word for word.
As Sabaa nears the central roundabout of the impressive library, a younger Skydancer dragon walks up to her, his steps uneven. He stops a small distance away to compose himself, then clears his throat. Sensing his presence, the Coatl stops and turns around. "Yes?"
The other dragon might be larger, but it still looks like he's the one looking up at Sabaa, not the other way around. "I was wondering… is there anything in the Library on the possible transmutations for palladium ore?"
Sabaa's eyes narrow a little. "Palladium, you say?" She hums under her breath. "So… you're thinking of continuing your mother's work."
She remembered his mother! The Guardian is secretly happy. If she knows his mother, then maybe…
"That's fairly advanced stuff," Sabaa goes on. "I think you should start with something simpler, like silver. Palladium is rare enough as it is. I don't want you mucking up what little we have..." Her expression softens, perhaps seeing his disappointment. Her smile, though reserved, is understanding and sincere. "...But, I think we can spare a few nuggets," she adds, and is rewarded by a beaming smile, so she feels compelled to finish, "Maybe. I'll have to check the stores first."
The younger dragon starts to thank her, but Sabaa waves him off. Imparting knowledge is something that makes her genuinely pleased, as there can be no such thing as too much knowledge or too many dragons who have it. "Find me in the transmute section of the library in an hour," she tells him. "I'll get you started."
