The Shadow

Quicksilver was lost. After months left wandering the Shifting Expanse, he acted like the shadow of a frightened animal.


A fearless warrior reduced to nothing...



The voices wouldn’t stop. He wanted to be left alone. He wanted them to go away. To leave.
Worthless...



They hissed in his mind, their voices cruel and unforgiving. Quicksilver flitted from shadow to shadow, never staying too long in sight.


You’re pathetic, a failure...



He hadn’t seen another soul in weeks. He was beginning to succumb to the voices, all life escaping his eyes, turning him into a emotionless creature devoid of all emotion. He met another dragon halfway through his fifth month out in the barren wasteland. Poseidon took him home to see if life could be breathed back into the bland shell of a Skydancer.



A shadow, nothing more...




As Quicksilver slowly returned to his previous state, the voices came back. They were different this time, their voices smooth, welcoming him back into their trap.


Come back to us…



He became good friends with a dragon in the clan, and the two often talked. The voices stayed in the back of his mind.


The color returned to the Skydancer. He talked to his friend every day, and gradually his personality returned.
