Lugubre Clan Warrior The first thing Lugubre saw when he hatched from his egg so many years ago was the awaiting eyes of his mother. He's loved her with all his heart from that day. It did not occur to him for many years after that Vuelos was not his true mother. In fact, such a fact was not important him then and never would be. He stays with her, loyal to her clan and to his family. He has learnt to prove himself to those bigger than he. As a warrior of the clan, he is respected. with such a small stature, however, many underestimate his skills as a soldier. Some claim his position is awarded to him only due to his mother's status as leader of the clan. Many other warriors challenge him on the first encounter, eager to take his place in the ranks through a battle of claw and tooth. Lugubre bests them all, with few exceptions. The battle that makes him famous in the neighboring clans, however, is his battle with Funesto. Funesto is nearly double his weight and several meters bigger than he. Where Lugubre is lean and powerful, Funesto is large, muscles bulging. "You're lead warrior?" asks Funesto, already laughing. "But- you're so small!" That's all it takes to start the fight. Lugubre sticks to his tried and true. His wings, so much bigger than his body, award him a speed Funesto cannot fathom with his stocky build and heavy limbs. Funesto's claws rend his scales in two, ripping his armour from his hide, and yet Lugubre is barely slowed. In the end, it is Funesto who wavers on his feet and topples to the ground, bleeding out from gaping wounds on the tender points of his stomach and groin. He looks up at Lugubre, who pants from the exertion of bringing down the great behemoth, and says, "you're quick." They are fast friends from that day forward. Funesto can often be found at Lugubre's side, lumbering like the great beast he is as Lugubre goes about his clan business. As trainer of the younger warriors, Lugubre often asks Funesto to stand in as the dummy in training exercises. Ignoring the snickers of the hatchlings and the smirk on Lugubre's lips, Funesto always agrees. |
