Cold Blooded And Colder Yet
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━«

In life he was ruthless. Death had not changed that about him.

His body was scarred. Blackened by frostbite, and surprisingly unweathered by time. Old wounds crisscrossed in a once living mesh all down the length of him, an endless testament to his heritage. Gangrene mixed with runic markings at his fingertips. You couldn’t get very far without seeing the blue-green tints mixing with the jewels and silks that adorned his body, a strange mish mash of battle worn and soft and spoiled. It was difficult at times, to determine what was a result of his death, and what was brought out as a result of it. The runes after all, were what kept him ‘alive’.

He was legless. Some peculiar clan tradition compelled his ancestors to hack them away at birth, and mingle their young in live Serthis nests, letting only their strongest survive. His horns were cut to the quick, whittled down for battle, to prevent catching and breaking. So his clan broke them themselves, reshaped them and remade them. Rings adorned the ebon stalks, helping guide their shape as he grew, and ended with the tips gilt in sharp spikes, as if merely gazing at him would harm you. And of course, it could. Had you asked him what he thought of his ruthless upbringing, he would only howl with laughter, saying plague dragons weren’t the only ones who knew the savagery of survival.
