Black Opal is the founder and leader of the Vulture's Roost. Her hope is to give dragons a place to thrive and heal, despite living under the direct opposite conditions. A few years after the founding of the roost, Black Opal was injured badly during an attack on the roost grounds from an unknown, rotting and razor-spined dragon. One of the assailent's spined punctured and tore through Opal's abdomen. She was able to bring down te dragon, but it would cost her. Medic dragons rushed to sew her up and bandage the wound, but they were unable to completely stitch her back together as the wound was incredibly wide. She persisted though, and walked and talked with the roost's members as if nothing was wrong, showing them around and welcoming in new dragons. a few weeks later, while she was welcoming a new imepral dragon to the roost, she collapsed. Her bandages wrapped around of her stomach did nothing to hold off the infection, and it quickly progressed to her heart, unnoticed by everyone but her. Layed on the dirt, surrounded b ymedics and her right hand Rhodonite, she died
