Fern, out of all the ambassadors in the clan, is the most passionate about his work. He prides himself on the deep connection he has to the land in which he resides, and spends most of his time working. In fact, there is little time he spends that doesn't have something to do with his work. He grounds the clan in its residence within the Viridian Labyrinth, handling all matters the require communication with the Gladekeeper or her acolytes. He seeks to strengthen his communion with his deity, and works tirelessly to improve his nature-based magic. He has cut a sapling from the Behemoth and allowed it to take root along the back of his neck, binding himself to the life force of his Deity's greatest work.

Fern can be overbearing, at times. He is so absorbed in his work that it is all he really thinks or talks about, which can be tiring to other dragons. Because of this, he is not very close to many dragons (although he doesn't mind, as it give him more time to study.) He interacts with Meras, Sullie, and Hekkahenne most often because of their similar occupations and interests, although they are less fond of him than he is of them. He has a very close bond with Shilo, who seems to be the only dragon who can tolerate his singular interests.
