“The moon was up, painting the world silver, making things look just a little more alive."

Ever since the skydancer hatchling's young eyes first saw the faint light of the moon and stars raining upon the nest, she was enamored. The quiet distance and serenity of this light became Moonlit's guide as she grew, spread her wings and left the nest to seek out a life of her own.

Quiet and quite comfortable in her solitude, she did not find a friend or familiar to bond with for many years. Instead the very light became her companion, and the silent dragon learned to read the stars in the night sky. They told her stories of things that had happened and things yet to come. Without anyone to share it with, she was left to keep reading, keep learning all on her own.
