Biography
Sometimes overlooked in favor of more 'interesting' clan members, Atticus doesn't mind his quiet, peaceful life. In fact, he quite prefers it.
Found most often in his office with Caper, a calico companion animal of many years, Atticus has a small, private file on each of the other members of the community. He's not a therapist, and he's not a spy. He's simply very organized and keeps a record of everyone's personal needs and preferences, from genders and orientations to sensitivities and disabilities. As there are many in the clan, Atticus knows it's important not to forget anyone when planning events, catching up with old friends, or even introducing new members to the community. After all, he knows how it sometimes stings to feel forgotten.
Atticus is known to frequent cafes and open parks, places that he can sit and watch others at his leisure, or interact with them if he has enough energy. Caper stays with him, so that when he feels too tired to continue or his anxiety starts to peak, he knows he has a friend who understands him.
When he has the energy to do so, Atticus drops in on individuals in the clan. He sees if there is anything they need, and he gives of himself to ensure that even the less sociable aren't completely cut off from the rest of the clan. And, if anything has changed - a better understanding of self with different pronouns or a worsening of a chronic condition, for example - he adds it to his files, and he will only share this information with others if his clanmate says it's okay to do so.
Sometimes jokingly seen as the clan matchmaker, Atticus has an eye for compatible personalities. His keen sense of observation and his understanding of what is lacking in another dragon's life leads him to suggest and arrange acquaintanceships between clan members who might otherwise not have considered spending time together. He's often right, and the two dragons find common ground and build friendships.
Atticus' own needs are simple - a little patience when he can't walk as quickly as others, a wider path to accomodate his mobility aids, and a little love. He isn't sure exactly how to describe his own orientation, but he has been known to fancy dragons of genders similar and different to his own. While he hasn't had a long-term romantic interest in a while, he thinks perhaps the best word for himself is 'bi', though he is not fully comfortable with this label yet. He thinks it merits a bit more exploration, both of himself and his relationships with others.
